Today's Update - 6 Aug 2014

Every year it seems to take longer to do all of my end of summer cleaning.  Yowzer.  I'll admit it, my rear bumper is dragging the road.  But the kitchen has been completely emptied, everything vacuumed out, new shelf liners, etc and then everything reorganized and put back in.  The counter tops were polished and sealed again.  All of my small appliances were taken apart and given their monthly deep cleaning plus I took care of all of the gears and whatnot.  Floor was given another coat of the shiny gunk that protects it (for some reason I have wooden floors in the kitchen ... ugh).  And all of my knick knacks taken down from on high were dusted and I vacuumed those far reaches that no human ever sees except for the lunatic woman up on the step ladder changing light bulbs and washing light fixtures.  I also conditioned and deep cleaned my ceramic stove top and all of my large appliances.

I also finished inventorying all of the DVDs in the house ... I'm shocked and embarrassed to find out exactly how many we actually have ... and reorganized them before putting them back into their storage spaces.  Utility room partially completed.  Garage partially completed.  Family room totally completed.  Tomorrow I'm going to try and work on my clothes closet ... yep, that's a mess ... and some of the remaining "partially" finished areas.  And Friday is going to be a serious yard day if the weather cooperates.  I have at least four trees that need to get into the ground and several other areas that need defoliant so we can actually get to the steep edge of the pond to give that the yearly rehab of getting rid of the choking water plants that invade from the swamp.

Other than that I haven't been doing much.  ROFL.  Except I did manage to get some of the stories added to.

If there is time this evening I plan on working on a chapter for Fractured Fairytale and one for Enduring on the Lake.  If I don't get them up tonight I'll make them the priority the next day or so depending on my lunatic schedule.

Last clip I included was on hidden killers of the Victorian era.  This one is on the hidden killers of the Edwardian era.  Wonder some many decades down the road if someone will make one on the hidden killers in our current era.  Makes you look around and go hmmmmm.

Enjoy!

    1. I don't mind being tired when I can see the fruits of my labor. Kinda literally as such things go because I found a couple of jars of green beans and a couple of jars of pear butter that had gotten "lost" amongst some commercially canned items.

  3. You take apart your small appliances and clean them? That has never even occurred to me and I'm going to try to bury it somewhere deep in my mind so it never does lol. Your home must be so clean. I'm happy if the floors are swept and everything is off the counters with no sticky residue. Wow! I think your hubby got a better deal than mine, but we won't tell him 0.0

    1. Well see, there is a reason why I have to take things apart like that and it isn't because my house is spic-n-span all the time. LOL. Until our oldest married there were seven living under our roof. Now there are six ... six busy, busy people. LOL. Plus we homeschool though this month I will officially be down to two as the other three have either graduated college or will be in it. So a couple of times a year my house gets heck cleaned out of it. I usually do it at the end of summer, around the holidays (for company you know), and then sometime before it gets too hot and I have to close the house up for the summer again. We also run our business from our house. The bottom line is I clean and organize things in self defense to keep from going totally nuts. ROFL! Trust me, it gets messy fast.

  4. Thank you for all your efforts in adding to the stories even though you are flat out. I seem to be doing the same jobs so I appreciate how busy you are. It is a real pleasure to read from a woman's point of view.
