Quick Update - 25 Mar 2015

First I apologize for my abruptness here but I did want to let people know what is going on.  First off I wrecked up both of my wrists falling out of a tree.  Dumb move on my part and for a stupid reason on top of it.  I was trying to dislodge a kite and took a header.  Nothing broken, just typing is difficult.

Second, I just found out tonight that my father will have to have a valve replacement and triple bypass.  It will be a week before we know more and I'll admit to being shaken up.  His health isn't the greatest but this wasn't what we expected when he had his heart cath today.

So, I'm going to try and get something up tomorrow but it might be full of errors.  Just give me another day's grace.  Thanks.

  1. Take your time! Your health (physical and mental) is much more important that any updates.

  2. Prayers for you and your dad, Kathy. Better for him to find out during a heart cath, than having a big old MI, though. Arnica and ibuprofen are great for those bruises that hurt worse than a break.

Please take care of yourself and your family. Those of us that 'know' you (even if it's online), will be here waiting whenever you are able to return.

  3. Goodness what a way to get hurt :(. Can't say I have never fallen over or out of something. Dh would tell me to be more careful so it doesn't happen again. I told him once, yeah like I meant to fall! Thats why its called an accident. But I'm not supposed to say a word to him when he does it.
    Prayers for your dad.

  4. Hi Kathy, I am sorry about your wrists. Falls like that are such a jolt to the systems, it always seems to take a while to get back on track. My father had a triple by-pass about 20 years ago and he is still with us today. So take heart (pardon the pun) from that and know that with the surgery done, things will be much better. Just make him promise to get walking after the surgery. A patient's willingness to do that is what earmarks a full recovery. Take care of yourself and your family first. We'll all be here and patiently waiting when you have time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  6. Sorry to hear all this. Even a small fall can cause some big boo boos and this doesn't sound like a small one. I hope your wrists are better soon and prayers for your dad's quick recovery. You know, most of us have been following you around for years. We're not going anywhere now so when you and yours are better, we'll still be here.

  7. I know how you feel, Kathy. My dad had a quadruple bypass 4 years ago. Three days ago he celebrated his 71st birthday and is still going strong. Take care of yourself and your family, we can wait.
