Hi everyone. Just a quick note ...
I've had a family emergency. My brother has pneumonia and his wife - who is already very ill - is having emergency surgery on Friday and after that will be coming to my home to recuperate until she can be on her own. We are the only family we each have in the immediate area so with God's grace I am being given the opportunity to be a caregiver. I will try and post when I can but at the moment my energies have to be elsewhere.
Thanks for being so understanding.
Kathy, we have added your family to our prayers here tonight..for healing and health for your brother and sister-in-law, as well as strength and wisdom as you minister to them May God bless you and guide you as you rely on His love ~
ReplyDeleteSending some prayers up for your brother and sister in law.
ReplyDeleteFamily comes first! Your minions can stand to be a little patient. ;-)
Don't forget to take care of yourself as well! *hugs*
We all know how that is. My sis in law just had another brain tumor removed today and brother said it went well. Take care of all of you.
ReplyDeleteKathy I have added your family to my prayers. Don't fret about us we will still be here when you have time to post again. Thanks for all of the time you have given to teach us and entertain us you are truly gifted.
ReplyDeleteWayne
Don't worry about us....we have had so many treats with all your postings we can wait how ever long it takes for more... gives us time to enjoy a reread of our old favourites. Do take care of yourself as well. It is a privilege to be able to help family or others in need. Prayers and thoughts.
ReplyDeletepneumonia is so hard and just HARD! Do you need anything to help you? Do you have the nebulizer and all of that kind of thing? Taking care of people is so difficult too. Please don't let yourself be worn down. I used to step outside for just a moment and make a God call and ask for energy to get through the night. Gosh for months. But even a week or two is hard. If you are the caregiver, let others take care of you too. you are in my prayers and your family.
ReplyDeletedon't worry about us, we can re-read everything while we wait. thats the great thing about your stories, always fun to re-read because there are little bits of this or that that we can pick up. Sometimes ill re read certain stories so i get motivated to go make jam or something lol.
Just take care of yourself too Kathy, and even if you can't post a story, let us know how you're doing. Hugs!
Wow hon, I'm glad you can be there for your family when they need you. Just remember to take care of yourself too with little breaks here and there. It's harder being the caretaker than being sick. Been both :) We will keep all of you in prayer on this end. If you need something hollar! We can wait on stories. Just let us know how things are going if you can cuz we WILL worry...
ReplyDeleteAs others have said: Thank Heaven they have you to care for them. Just remember to hold a little back to keep yourself healthy. You won't do them any good if you end up flat on your back.
ReplyDeleteMake sure to LAUGH it is good for the spirit as well as the body. (Coughing up a bit of crud while laughing is just less gross.)
Laughter also deeply oxygenates the body-- cool stuff.)
Among those "Keeping you in my prayers",
We'll be here when you get a chance.
Lol I keep checking back anyway, in hopes you found some time lol. I can always hope huh? :)
ReplyDeleteKeeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, Kathy.

As others have said, family comes first. I will keep you and yours in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your writing with us. I enjoy it SO MUCH!
Have re-read all my favorites and caught up on everything. So there was nothing left to do but start my own PAW story blog. Have been putting it off for a while. Thanks for the inspiration Kathy!
ReplyDeleteHope that everyone is healing up nicely and that you aren't being run too ragged. Prayers being said for the whole family.

ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else, family first. Take care of them and yourself. You know we will be here waiting for you.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was taking care of someone I really had zero time to talk, or type, or even read for that matter. But, should you want to talk , we are all here. The stories I could tell now that I didn't have the energy to tell then... There was such a mess of people and it always seemed that they took more energy than they gave, even if they were there to 'help' lol. From a family member sleeping with a nurse, to a nurse sleeping in my moms bed instead of doing her job even after I came in twice to give her coffee, to my sisters best friend getting angry at my mom for needing me (she was dying and afraid.. of course she needed me), to my moms best friend who actually brought food, but the shock of seeing my mom that way (copd) was too much and she never came back. To my brother taking moms house and my sister threatening to cut off moms nursing care if I didn't deal with my bro.
ReplyDeleteIts hard being a care taker. people get all messed up and they often do more harm than good. I hope your situation is better than mine was, but if something goes out of sorts, you know that you have us on your side and praying for you. One of the things that I wanted most outside of her magically be given a gift of health by God, was just a good night sleep. I see that from you not logging on that your moments must be stretched very tight and so I reckon you're tired. So I just want to lift you up in my prayers tonight Kathy and ask God to take care of you and your health, to give you the breaks that you need, and fill others with kindness around you rather than bickering. I know that everyone here is praying for you because you have become very important to us, and we genuinely care for your well-being. I also ask God to bring a deep and sweet peace upon you, so you feel close to him while you care for your family. In Jesus Name.
Amen,
DeleteStill praying here.
Thoughts and Prayers, Kathy. I have been a caregiver for both of my elderly parents before they passed and it is terribly exhausting .... but rewarding. Hopeing that all is going well for you and your's.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing well and your folks healing.
ReplyDeleteHey Kathy, if you wind up having a half a second to yourself for reading you may want to try: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HUHVWZS The series features a strong female lead, and the writing is great. When I finished it I thought 'Kathy would love this!' So give it a try if you need a good wind-down read at some point!
